Opportunities with our Cosy Homes Club

Do you want to:

  • help your community have warmer homes and lower bills
  • take positive action against climate change?
  • meet other like-minded people to learn, share and grow together?

Homebaked CLT has two exciting opportunities for local people in Anfield and Everton to get involved in learning about energy issues and make a difference in our community.

We need:

  • 10 people to become a team of energy champions
  • 3 people to become citizen researchers

If you’re interested in working together with your neighbours to find ways that we can help people in our community to have warmer and healthier homes, read more about these two roles below:

Energy champions!

We need 10 volunteer energy champions to join us to learn, explore and discuss things together such as:

  • How to make our homes more comfortable, reduce our energy bills, and make greener choices?
  • How do we support people to make sure no one is left behind?
  • What are the next steps needed to make Anfield and Everton a more energy efficient neighbourhood?

As this is a voluntary role, we will offer the following additional benefits for participants:

  • Knowledge and skills to enhance your CV.
  • Volunteer out of pocket expenses covered including childcare costs available for the training and workshop sessions

You don’t need any prior knowledge or experience just a willingness to learn and work together!

Citizen researchers!

We are looking for 3 paid citizen researchers to work with us to:

  • Develop creative and engaging research about home energy issues in Anfield and Everton
  • Use your local knowledge and experience to shape the process and make sure it truly represents our local area!
  • Hold conversations with other people within the community
  • Creatively document your findings throughout the project

This is a paid role, for 24 days of research led activity over  the course of the project with a fee of £110 for each day.

You don’t have to be an expert in energy efficiency - we are looking for people who are interested in learning more about it. Ideally you will be confident in engaging with people (or willing to learn), great at working in a team, have clear communication skills, but most importantly, be keen to get stuck in!

Both roles will start with a workshop together on the afternoon of Thursday 7th December with hot drinks, a warm meal and chance to get to know each other.

At this workshop we’ll also collectively organise the following sessions between January and April on dates that work for you.
