Cosy Homes receives Phase 2 funding

We’re delighted to say that we have been awarded funding to continue developing our Cosy Homes project over the next 12 months, thanks to the Community Knowledge Fund. 

Funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), and delivered by The Young Foundation, the Community Knowledge Fund supports grassroots community groups and organisations across the UK to find new solutions to local and national challenges by uncovering knowledge and turning great ideas into action.

The next phase of Cosy Homes will build on what we have already learned to research and develop realistic options for how to deliver an inclusive retrofit scheme in our area. Retrofit is the process of installing energy efficiency measures in existing properties in order to make them warmer and healthier to spend time in, and also to reduce energy consumption - and bills! 

We believe that everyone in our community deserves to live well, and having access to warm and affordable homes is a key part of that. So, over the next 12 months we will be working with local people to learn more about how we can make this possible!

Our first step is to build up our core team to support the success of the project.

To do this we are recruiting people living in or with a connection to Anfield/Everton for two roles: local energy champions (voluntary) and assistant researchers (paid).

We’ll need between 8-10 energy champions from across the community, who would be interested in undertaking training in Carbon Literacy, Retrofit and energy efficiency awareness, and community organising.

Additionally we're looking for 3 people who are interested in working (in a paid capacity) alongside the lead researcher to co-develop our research questions, research and engagement techniques, and creatively document their findings.
