It was great to be invited to contribute to Breaking Ground’s inaugural festival. As part of our ‘Homebaked kinda day’ on 27th February, we explored four themes key to our work with fantastic international guest experts. It was a a fantastic day of sharing, learning and coming together (albeit on Zoom!)

Session 1: The Neighbourhood as Incubator

Session 2: Talking Homes

With guests, with guests Gala Pin from Barcelona en comù, Jess Steele from Hastings Commons and a poetry reading by Homebaked CLT member Ronnie Hughes. Hosted by Britt Jurgensen, Homebaked CLT co-founder.

Session 3: Local Responses to Climate Change

With Helen Grimshaw from URBED and hosted by Marianne Heaslip, Homebaked CLT architect.

Session 4: Arts as DNA

With artists Rick Lowe and Fiona Whelan, and Amahra Spence from MAIA. Hosted by Jeanne van Heeswijk, artist and Homebaked CLT board member, and Sam Jones, artist and Homebaked co-founder.
