Homebaked is a community land trust and co-operative bakery situated on the boundary between the neighbourhoods of Everton and Anfield, just opposite the Liverpool Football Club. The project is co-owned and co-produced by people who live and work in our area. Starting from having saved our iconic neighbourhood bakery from demolition and developed it into a thriving community-run business with a beautiful apartment above we are proposing to regenerate our high street ‘brick by brick and loaf by loaf’, using money that is spent in the neighbourhood to benefit our communities.
This work is based on the simple belief that we all deserve to live well. For us that means good jobs, secure homes, great food and welcoming spaces to meet, share stories, learn and celebrate.
In 2017 we began work on the apartment above the bakery - the first homes in Homebaked.
As a part of our fact-finding mission to get ourselves fully clued up on the best way to redesign Oakfield Terrace, the Core Design Team recently went on a day trip roaming around the north-west, checking out design ideas and ownership models, looking at the work of other CLTs and cooperatives.
Our first port of call took us across Liverpool to Toxteth where we were welcomed by the lovely people of Granby Four Streets.
Drop into our new headquarters at 189 Oakfield Road (three doors down from the bakery) and let us know what you think of the plans for the terrace next to the bakery.
Pop in and say hello over the next four weeks on Thursdays 3-6pm, Fridays 10am - 1pm
We are very proud and happy to announce that following many months of planning, sweat, dust and creativity the flat above Homebaked bakery is nearly ready for the first tenants to move in. Before they do we would love you to come and visit, have a tour and celebrate with us.
Please join us on Saturday, 27th of January, 2018 between 12noon and 2pm at 197a Oakfield Rd, L4 0UF.
We will offer refreshments.
