It’s only Monday, but so much has been going on at Homebaked, I thought it best to write a little update now!
Last week, we were hosts to patrons of the annual Locality conference, which was held in St. George’s Hall.
Visitors from Locality popped into Homebaked to hear a talk given by Britt about the bakery and our humble beginnings, and to learn a little more about what we do as a business.
Afterward, it was back to the bakery for cream scones and/or pies!
Overall, the visits were well-received, and we were happy to have you – you’re welcome back any time.
This morning, we had the film crew from Welsh TV channel S4C in with us. They were filming for an upcoming documentary about social enterprises in Wales.
Thank you to the crew, and the students who were part of the documentary, for a wonderful visit!
Have you been down to the Ice Rink in Chevasse Park yet?
If not, get yourself down there, as we have our pies up for grabs in the Blackburne House Cafe Bar!
They’ll be there for a while yet in the leadup to Christmas, so be sure to check it out.
Speaking of Christmas…
We’re hosting an event on the 12th December – “That Thing on the Rec – A Right Local Christmas”!
Pat explained it better than I could on our Facebook:
“Homebaked presents ‘The Thing on the Rec – A Real Local Christmas’! We are looking for local producers and makers of arts, crafts, any sort of…’things’…to take part in our event on the 12th December. It’s going to be a fun filled day packed with lots of activities & workshops…and maybe even some dancing to round off the day (yes, really!) Stalls are limited and free of charge, so If you’re interested in taking part and would like to showcase your talents, we’d love to hear from you. For more information please get in touch at email@example.com or pop in the bakery to register your interest. More details to follow soon! #morethanamarket”
We’re still on the lookout, so if you have something you’d like to bring to ‘The Thing on the Rec: A Real Local Christmas’, get in touch!
As well as that, we trialed some new festive treats today!
Our chefs came up with a delicious turkey, leek and ham pie, and a pasty – turkey, bacon, cranberry and stuffing.
We’ll hopefully be selling these officially from the 1st of December!
Finally – Christmas cakes!
These gorgeous cakes are made by Sue, and if you want one, you best be quick! The deadline for orders is 18th November, so pop in before Wednesday if you’d like to put your name down.
They cost £6, but we require a £3 deposit to hold one for you.
